Where Are We?

Deben Rotaract is located in Rotaract district 1080, which covers the region known as East Anglia (Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire). The club is named after the Deben- the river that flows through Woodbridge and joins the sea between Bawdsey and Felixstowe. Our club members are mostly from the Ipswich and Woodbridge areas, though some come from the distant corners of Suffolk and Essex!

On the hill overlooking Woodbridge is the Sutton Hoo burial, where an Anglo Saxon ship was dragged from the Deben and filled with treasure. To the north of the river is Rendlesham Forest - site of alledged UFO activity, and the location of Bentwaters, the air base which was to be blown up in Frederick Forsyth's book "The Fourth Protocol"

Meetings

We meet once a month at PJ McGinty & Sons (the red marker on the map above) for a drinks and planning meeting, usually on a Thursday at 7.30. If you're thinking of coming along, feel free to join us on one of our more exciting adventures first- see the Events Calendar for details!
