Charity Pub Quiz for Out and About 28/07/09
Deben Rotaract held a Pub Quiz in aid of local charity Out and About. PJ McGintys kindly hosted the event and eight teams gathered to answer questions on a wide range of subjects from Suffolk knowledge to cartoon characters. A raffle was held with a great selection of prizes donated by local businesses. The quiz was won by team 'See Other Side' with the close runners up being Ipswich Chess Club. The evening was enjoyed by all and raised a fantastic £231 for Out and About.

Race For Life 08/07/09
Three members of Deben Rotaract (Helen, Claire and Adele) completed the 5km race at Trinity Park in aid of Cancer Research UK. We had a fantastic time and raised £380 for the charity. Thank you to everyone who sponsored us!

Revisiting Our Trees at Hazelwood 28/06/09
Back at the start of March we helped Suffolk Wildlife Trust plant over 300 trees at their Hazelwood Marshes reserve (see other gallery). When we returned to Hazelwood Marshes to work on another project painting a bird hide we looked in on our trees and were delighted to see how much they had grown in such a short space of time.

Hazelwood Marshes Bird Hide Rennovation 28/06/09
Our second Green Team event at Hazelwood Marshes this year. One very hot sunday in June 7 of us descended upon the marshes to help Suffolk Wildlife Trust wardens Mick and Mervyn to rennovate the bird hide. Involving copious amounts of very runny black paint, the hide was transformed in little over 2 hours helping to protect it for the coming years from the elements. Suffice to say that by the end of the task we were looking more like the black team rather than the green team!

Bird Survey at Suffolk Punch Trust 31/05/09
The Suffolk Punch Trust (a local rare breed of horse) have asked the club to build some bird boxes for their site to attract more wildlife to the area. On Sunday 31st May some members of the club conducted a bird survey at the site to gather information about which birds are currently present in the area.
