Green Team


Deben Rotaract has a long history of supporting environmental issues by raising money for the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and the Diana Fossey Gorilla Foundation. But in 2008 we decided to increase our contributions towards improving the environment by forming our Green Team. The Green Team has been set up to support Suffolk's ambition of Creating the Greenest County and is engaging at a local level to improve Suffolk's environment through voluteering and sponsoring local environmental initiatives.

Since 2008 the Green Team has undertaken the following:

  • Hazelwood Marshes Bird Hide Rennovation 28/06/2009

    Our second Green Team event at Hazelwood Marshes this year. One very hot sunday in June 7 of us descended upon the marshes to help Suffolk Wildlife Trust wardens to rennovate the bird hide.

    Back at the start of March we helped Suffolk Wildlife Trust plant over 300 trees at their Hazelwood Marshes reserve (see other gallery).
